The second phase of the 14th edition of the India Premier League is all set to start from 19th of September, 2021 in the UAE. The second phase would start with an opening match of Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings.
Due to the rapid increase in the covid cases in India, the remaining 31 matches were postponed until further notice. The BCCI has now decided to continue with the remaining matches in the UAE starting from 19th of September as it was not possible for BCCI to continue with the matches in India itself.
The remaining 31 matches of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League would be played at three different venues in the UAE viz., Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah. The first qualifier and the final of the Indian Premier League would be played in Dubai on 10 and 15th October respectively while the Eliminator and the second qualifier would be played on October 11 and 13 respectively.
One of the most successful team of the Indian Premier League Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are aiming to set up their preparatory camp for the 14th edition of the tournament from early August. They are seeking the permission from the BCCI for the same.
Chennai Super Kings with its team are planning to leave for UAE in early august, probably by the second or the third week of August and start with the preparation and practise for the remaining matches. However, their trip would be confirmed only on the approval of the request by the BCCI.
As per a report, the players of the Chennai Super Kings have been asked to report to Chennai first, following which they will leave for Dubai via a charter flight only after approval from the Indian government as well as the BCCI.
The team would be travelling with all the precautionary measures and following the SOPs which has become the utmost priority for the players in this condition.
Chennai Super Kings are looking for a preparation of more than a month for the second phase of the Indian Premier League to work on their weakness and build the team stronger.
