Hameed & Robinson set to Join England’s Squad for first two Tests against India
England have recently announced it’s 17 members squad for the first two test of the series against India. Jofra Archer and Chris Woakes are likely to miss the series against India due to injuries and have been ruled out for the first two tests against India.
England are looking a great side and with Ben Stokes and Sam Curran joining the side who had a great outing against Pakistan.
Haseeb Hameed and Ollie Robinson has also been added to the 17 members’ squad of Engliand. Haseeb Hameed last featured in England’s squad when they toured India in 2016 for 3 matches. He was then dropped from the team due to poor batting form. Haseeb Hameed has made a great comeback with great knocks this season which is a very positive sign for England.
With the kind of form Hameed has, England’s opening proves to be quite dangerous. The English opener has scored 642 runs from nine matches in the County Championship at an average of 45.85 in which he scored two centuries and four half-centuries. Hameed has continued his form with a century in a 3 day practise match against India which is in progress. He can be a great challenge for the Indians as they were not able to counter him in the practise match.
Ollie Robinson has also been included to the squad after he was under fire for tweets that he has posted nine years ago. He has been added back to the England’s squad after the ECB carried out a detailed investigation on the historical tweets.
Ollie Robinson had a very fine seven-wicket Test debut against New Zealand which proved that he has the ability continue his outstanding form in the County Championship to the international level. His form in the County Championship looks promising and England expects he continues the same and delivers the best for their team.
England Squad: Joe Root (c), James Anderson, Jonny Bairstow, Dom Bess, Stuart Broad, Rory Burns, Jos Buttler, Zak Crawley, Sam Curran, Haseeb Hameed, Dan Lawrence, Jack Leach, Ollie Pope, Ollie Robinson, Dom Sibley, Ben Stokes, Mark Wood.
