England vs India, 3rd Test, Day 1 Updates:

The 3rd test match was started on 25th August 2021, at 11:00 AM LOCAL. The match is being played on Headingley, Leeds Stadium in England.

India Playing Squad: Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli (c), Ajinkya Rahane, Rishabh Pant (wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj

England Playing Squad: Rory Burns, Haseeb Hameed, Dawid Malan, Joe Root (c), Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler (wk), Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Craig Overton, Ollie Robinson, James Anderson.

Indian Captain, Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first. Openers, Rohit Sharma & KL Rahul were not able to take far the game with Rahul being duck out and Rohit with a score of 19 off 105 balls.

Indians were not able to perform their best as they were bowled out for 78 runs in the first innings of Day 1.

Rohit Sharma & Ajinkya Rahane were the only batsmen with a 2-digit run. Other players fell down with a single-digit.

James Anderson & Craig Overton took 3 wickets each.

After the Indians were bowled out for 78, England started with Rory Burns and Haseeb Hameed as openers. Their partnership run was able to cross India’s 78 runs to end day 1 with 120 runs without any wicket loss.

Haseeb Hameed with 60 runs and Rory Burns with 52 ended Day 1 to lead the game by 42 runs. Indian bowlers could not conquer any England batsmen and closed the Day with 120-0 (Eng) & 78-10 (IND).
