Punjab Kings Signs Adil Rashid for the Second Phase of IPL 2021:- The second phase of IPL 2021 is set to start from 19th of September, 2021. With the new schedule for the remaining matches of the IPL, various players may not be able to report for the matches and may miss the remainder of the matches for their respective teams.
This has now started creating challenges for various teams to find perfect replacement for the players that may miss the second phase of IPL. Rajasthan Royals is one of such teams, who may face problems with the same as some of their players are sure to miss the remaining matches.
The major turnback for Rajasthan Royals has been their Star Allrounder’s indefinite break from all forms of cricket in view of mental well being. In addition to this, Rajasthan Royals would also miss the absence of their star bowler Jofra Archer and their top opener Jos Buttler.
Jos Buttler has been the star batsman for Rajasthan Royals and has scored a century in the last match Rajasthan played before the suspension of IPL due to Covid 19.
With this view, Rajasthan Royals has recently signed Glenn Phillips for the remaining matches to be played in the second phase of IPL 2021. Glenn Phillips is New Zealand’s wicket keeper batsman and has been on a great form this season.
He is currently playing for Barbados Royals in the Caribbean Premier League and has looked on top of his form with a fifty ion the recent match played in CPL 2021.
Glenn Phillips was one of the only 5 players to have crossed 200 runs in the inaugural season of The Hundred. Glenn Philips has so far scored four T20 hundreds and a strike-rate of 143.28 from 134 games that he has played till then.
This would be Phillips’ debut IPL session and Rajasthan Royals are hoping that he delivers the best for their team and contribute for the team to help the team qualify for the playoffs.
Rajasthan Royals are placed fifth in the IPL 2021 points table and would be aiming the top 4 position this time around.
